Lauren Fowler is an illustrator, graphic designer and thing maker. Honing her craft for the past 11 years, she’s self-taught herself a multitude of the needlework disciplines. Working with her hands has been one of the most wondrous gifts that she loves to share.
This study session will focus on the satisfying art of visible mending and embellishment. It returns an item of clothing back to its former glory with beautiful battle scars. This works best with items that either need reinforcing or have become a bit “holey”. If you don’t have any clothing to mend, we’ll focus on embellishing an item with embroidery. Think flowers on jeans of pockets, a button detail, a pom pom, whatever you can imagine!
