Hinterland AW16

Hinterland refers to a place on the outskirts; one that exists beyond what can be seen and perfectly captures the essence of this collection – our expression of South African fashion.

This season, Margot Molyneux Clothing looks to the natural beauty of the continent for inspiration with a collection that finds its origins in ancient African sketches. And, in line with its past two collections, Papier and Colour Field, the label once again references a celebrated artist – this time Paul Klee and in particular, the work he produced while visiting Northern Africa in 1914.

The result is Hinterland, a range that pays homage to Africa through soft, hand drawn lines and textured forms and reflects the richness of autumn in its distinctive colour palette – navy, chartreuse, ochre and fern green. The silhouettes are bold and simple and remain true to the brand’s philosophy of effortless clothing that makes the wearer feel elegant and sophisticated.
